IP Due Diligence

In the context of an M&A project, a careful examination is advisable. We analyse the property rights of the target company as well as the products for patent infringement.

IP services

Identify and assessrisks

Are the target company's products protected by its own patents at all? Or do they even infringe the property rights of the competition? These and many other questions need to be answered before a company or shares in a company are bought or sold. Our patent attorneys accompany your M&A project within the framework of an IP due diligence.

This gives you the best possible knowledge of the legal status of the intellectual property and minimises the risk of being surprised after the purchase. IP due diligence often includes a chain-of-title analysis, as well as post-merger integration.

Inventory

We take over the formal and technical examination of the existing property rights and inform you whether they are legally valid.

Risk minimisation

Minimise the risk of being surprised afterwards by the lack of effectiveness of the advertised IP rights.

Chain of title

We check whether the target company is actually the owner of the IP rights.
